Mary Jo's Story
Following graduation I went to school for Dental Assisting. I completed all course work and State requirements to be a Certified Dental Assistant with X-Ray Certification. I spent about 12 years doing clinical dentistry. From clinical I became involved in the business aspect of my profession. The last 15 years of my Career found me involved in the Dental Insurance Industry. I truly loved this aspect of my dental career. While successful in both clinical and insurance, my most success was in the latter. I began as a Provider Relations Representative, responsible for building and maintaining Dental Provider Networks in MD. And one day found myself being Director of a Provider Relations Department with myself and my staff building and maintaining Dental Networks in various regions in the Country. I married in 1978 and had two beautiful children. One girl and one boy. I truly enjoyed every second of raising my children. My daughter is 28 and I'm not saying this just because I'm her Mommy but she truly is a gorgeous woman. Very dark hair and light aqua eyes. But most beautiful is her inner self. She was always the kind of kid in school that brought all the unpopular, stray or needy kids home and made them feel good about themselves. My son is 22 and of course what ...Expand for more
else would I say but he is very handsome. He is the opposite of his dark exotic sister. He was born with tons of long ORANGE hair and green eyes. (yes the same man is the father). At 22 he is a 6 ft strawberry blonde. He also has a heart as big as Texas and always wanted to help the underdog. He was a handful growing up. The first day of first grade his teacher called to tell me he was the class clown. From that day on until he graduated High School to not receive a teachers call during the week was very very rare. I'm happy to say he has grown out of his wild antics but not before I gave him the Mothers curse. I wished upon him TRIPLET BOYS identical to him in every word action and deed. My daughter has one little girl. The light of my life, Mikayla. She is 3 years old and I adore her in a way there are no words to describe. I was divorced in 1993. My first husband was and still is a great guy. We just both wanted different things in life at that point and grew in different directions. I remarried the love of my life. My children love him and he truly treats them no differently then his biological son. I moved to Montgomery County when we married because he owned a business in Rockville. We did move several years ago to Howard County and we love it here.
